The brake system was important to me. The plans contain three different versions. Since I already have the minibat with a rub the tire type which is about useless I decided to go for the drum brake version as described by Maupin in one of the last revisions of 1990.This entailed making new axle plates,a new axle (I guessed at the wall thickness of 095 for the rod)

I was rather happy with the my redesign of the brake.
