Here are some cucumbers planted a month ago. They seem to be growing fast.

At 3:00 i checked the tempature in the greenhouse again and it had cooled off a full 5 degrees, leaving it at 21 degreesC. .

The greenhouse is very green and also pink with red. The strawberry make it that colour.

This is the new greenhouse in the fall of 2009. Quite an addition to the house and promises to be a real challenge to understand and use it. In Dec of 2009 I installed a heated root/ earth section.

January 12,2010

Mat added a tap to the Greenhouse so he can water the plants with a hose ,rather than going back and forth with a watering can.

The tempature is really nice, 33 degrees Celsius. I could stay in there all day!!

Dec. 23, 2009 This is the box I built that will house the copper tubing. Here it is drying infront ot the biodiesel heater.
Dec 24, 2009 Here is the layout of the tubing. Yes this is Christmas day but I could not think of anything more enjoyable to do.
This is the pump that circulates the hot water to the greenhouse. And yes it does get insulated.
And finally the plants and tubing connected are in the box with the heat turned on.

Mat painted Part of the wall black so it will absorb heat.
Mat put a white tarp in front of his greenhouse so that the sun will reflect off the white

and on to the greenhouse.

Otober 20, 2009 Mat in the greenhouse. This is the below grade section with drying stinging nettle leaves, drying sweet potatoes and the lettuce.
Closing the wall to insulate the large window for the night time.
Pushing against the swinging wall to give the greenhouse insulation for the night-time.
Mat opening the door to cool the greenhouse when the sun is too hot.
And this window is where the excess heat from the greenhouse goes into the house. There is a plan to have it channelled to the upstairs bedroom.
Growing plants (a little small yet).

The finished Greenhouse about Sept 09 2009
Will Arlow putting the finishing touches on the greenhouse.

July 7, 2009 Another view from the south... getting busy on that south wall! I hope to add 36 evacuated tubes above the large window and a solar air heater above the greenhouse.
July 7, 2009 OK cement walls done and now the framing got the double walls and double roof.
June 8, 2009 WE could not rent cement forms so we built our own.... the inside wall is built just not put in place yet.
May 21, 2009 The foundation is done
May 8, 2009 This is the holes slightly enlarged with the water line repaired.. but still some reapirs to the drain are necessary.
Yes we broke the water line to the house and what a mess that was! Since it happened after hours I had to cobble up some garden hose and pipe clamps. I did not show the broken basement drain......!!!#####@@@
So this is how it starts with a large hole... about may 4, 2009
