Cold Cellar

	September 14, 2011 Darlene is washing Mats pears, collected from his fruit trees.
	Darlene chopping the pears and then putting them into jars.
	The pears later with a mixture of sugar and water poured in and sealed .
	Darlene is also making stewed tomatoes with these peach tomatoes , unlike the usual red tomatoes, these ones are yellow.
	The coldroom after two weeks canning.
	Mat has put vegetables such as carrots and potatoes into these bins with sawdust .

	September 21, 2010 Darlene made canned pears today , cooking here is the syrup .
	Here's the pears in the jars heating .
	And here is the pears all done and ready to go down stairs exept they have not sealed yet. As i was working in the office here updating the websites, i coud hear them poping and sealing .
	All the canned food in the coldroom .

	August 30 , 2010 Here we are putting the sawdust we dried last week, and the potato's from mats garden, in to a large container while the potatoes dry, and to slightly preserve them for the winter. First thing we have to do in put in a layer of sawdust (approx. 3") then a layer of potatoes, then a layer of sawdust then potatoes and then enough sawdust to cover the potatoes ..................
	Then another layer of saw dust and potatos..
	then another layer..
	Then another layer ....
	Then another layer.............
	And another layer
	and then the last layer of potatos.....
	And then the last layer, with sawdust on top. (number of layers vary) .

	August 24 , 2010 The coldroom has more canned jars. Compare the photo of the cellar on August 4 2010 and this photo here. BIG difference!!!
	These pumkins are drying so they can go in the cold cellar.
	These potatos are drying outside then are going to the cold cellar, but what will these potatos sit in when they are in the cold cellar?
	The potatos will sit in sawdust!!! Heres the sawdust drying....
	These are beets currently in the sawdust .
