Energy matters: Throw out the TV!

So how does one come to grips with the energy costs rising more than the paycheck?

Plan plan plan ahead! This is the secret to almost anything. If work is too distant you need to either move to the work or have the work come to you. Do not wait for the job to end or until the bite out of the paycheck for transportation costs is greater than the paycheck. Always have a backup plan ready to activate.

A point often overlooked is ones debt load. Life is a lot easier without a debt. It allows flexibility in ones life’s choices without the worry of monthly payments.

Some other good suggestions are to turn off the TV and start reading and doing research on just what you can do with your future. Learn a new skill instead of sitting in front of the TV. Fix that water leak, repair a broken appliance, and paint a wall anything to get started.

I have had many career changes in my life and each new adventure is exciting and most of all rewarding and a confidence builder. Fear and laziness hold us back but once started on this aspect of learning, life is great.

Another motivator is having friends who are doing the same. Share your skills, take care of the old folks near your home and visit and question those whom you feel has some answers to our future.
