Schweizer 2-33 replacement for the US

<<But the large fuselage are contributes to its safety and handling
characteristics as well as providing comfortable upright seating. >>

Have you ever flown any of the modern composite two seaters? From your post it
would seem not.
The fuselage of the 2-33 is not large, it is very difficult to get into the
back seat and very uncomfortable once you do get in. A person of average height
can not sit fully upright but rather hunched over. The front is no better and
there is not enough room to move the stick fully side to side without lifting
your leg. The adjustable rudder pedals in the 2-33 are a joke and the ones in
the back are fixed. All the composite two seaters offer far more comfort than
the 2-33.

<<Converting to glass would mean losing these attributes.>
That is the whole idea.

<<I personally think it looks stupid to lie nearly prone in a Grob or Puchaz
when your only in the mid 30 performance range
.>>
You sit in them semi-supine not prone. Both the Grob and Puchaz have large
enough cockpits that you can position yourself in just about any way you
please. And the rudder pedals really adjust fore and aft, what a concept!

<<The heaviness of the 2-32 is a result of its aluminum construction which
could be corrected if it was built in glass
.>>
ROTFLOL. The wings are aluminum and, considering their area, fairly light.
But also they were certified under regulations that would not be acceptable for
new certification so building them from aluminum to current regulations would
probably result in a heavier wing. The fuselage is from welded steel tube. As
to making things lighter in glass, HA! Try it, I really want to see that.
