May 14, 01..... gads time is flying......OK elevator ribs done and installed... working on jigs for the Metal work.... and then there is the parachute installation almost figued out!

 

May 9, 2001 work is proceed ing on the ailerons ribs, metal parts.

We have all of the stainless.... now to make up the jigs. We have an excellent tig welder close at hand, Dan Haines.
The rudder ribs are epoxied in.... lling very good saved quite a few ounces with the cast ribs.

 

May 2, 2001. WE have Rudder ribs..... but now we have the workshop in progress for the next few days so progress will be minimal..... and we will sneak off to do some flying!... and the weight is 1 lb 10 oz.

April 29, 2001. The Rudder ribs are done and we look forward to some Tig Welding this week so we can put together the fuselage!

Finally done!... now to cast the ribs
OPPSZ.... yup we goofed off sunday and flew the Monarch F.... absolutely fantastic!

Apr 27, 2001. We made a lot of progress this week! One nose cone, seat , rudder rib plugs and the end skins made and one epoxied on! I have most of the stainless tubing now... need some small parts tig welded.... which I will try to do locally (non structural) so I can glue up the fuselage!

The end skin epoxied on! The skin is one layer Carbon and one layer 10 oz glass.

Apr 21, 2001. We are hurrying along with the finishing of the fuselage... the kevlar nose cone!... are we late?

April 17, 2001. Working hard at buffing the metal fittings: waiting for stainless tubes to finish them. The rudder is ready for ribs so we are casting the rudder rib molds, Ailerons are going together, wings cleaned up for fabric etc.

Apr 12, 2001.WE have made up most of the aileron bearings, attached the left wing tip, installed the ribs #2.

April 11, 2001. Check received.... many thanks! The Rib #2 mold is complete and we have parts for both wings. Buffing is continuing on the stainless and small size tubing has been ordered for the controls. The aileron bearings have all the parts and are being assembled. We have just started the elevator and aileron skins.

Apr 5, 2001. Progress on the metal fittings, wingtips and braces done!

The two halves are mated with the metal fittings installed!

Apr 2, 2001. Lots of work done lately.... but someone was lazy on the web page updates!

Note the rear spar to main spar brace now installed on the right wing.
Drilling the carbon for the main fittings. Bolts will all be stainless with bushings in the carbon.
