![]() The Monarch has been around for over 20 years.This glider is an easy to fly, safe, fun experience. Usually used in light conditions, it will outsoar most other sailplanes. There are two versions of the Monarch. The Monarch F is usually plans built and uses wood spars for the elevator, ailerons and rear spar. The Monarch G model uses very little wood, using fiberglass for all the spars. The concept and ease of building and safety considerations are a big factor in the design approach. When I first discovered this glider in 1994 or there abouts Jim Marske had just been towed aloft by an ultralight and soared for about 6 hours. I was impressed and vowed to one day build it myself.-Mat Redsell

Below:Coming in for a landing on a Monarc h E after a 2 1/2 hr flight! Notice the hang gliders. Jim was towed aloft with an ultralight tug. All the hang glider pilots where impressed with the Monarchs superior performance.

Monarch G Stats:
Monarch Builders Manual The Model "G" Monarch eliminates all of the wood spars in the F model, has a slightly higher aspect ratio with Carbon rods in the main wing spar.This kit is available in Carbon as well as fiberglass The Model "F" Monarch is still current but we are no longer building the kits. The F model uses wood for the Rear Spar, Elevator spar, Aileron spar, Fin spar and Rudder spar. The F model is the best route for builders who want to just build from the plans or enjoy woodworking. Full wood kits are still available from us. This glider can be built from plans only.

It was easy and fun to fly and I was easily able to stay up in conditions that the regular sailplanes could not. I purchased one myself from Howie Burr who had just finished completing it.
