Windscreen Study:
November 18, 2001. Mike Flew the Monarch with the windscreen..... and was estatic with praise!..... then Robert Mudd flew it three times.... he also had very favorable comments! We where well pleased! Now to deliver it to Greg Olrich!
Nov 12, 2001: Was I excited!!.... the time to see if the new canopy actually works! It worked well. I had also made more sweep in the wings to accomocate the new ballistic Chute. Finding the correct CG was difficult so I started nose heavy and then moved it back gradually. The result was an airspeed of 25 mph indicated.... I actually took it to about 22 in for a high sink mush.... I think I have it really right on!

With the faster speed of hte Monarch G one needs a windshield for the cold and constant wind. On the F model that flew slower it was nto necessary. A short windshield was devised but with the onset of winter I thought it would be nice to have one that bridged the instrument panel to the wings. Our mock ups are below:
