I normally stay out of these arguments but.......do you "REALLY" think the
2-33 has "Better" coordination than "Any" other trainer?????? I guess I must
have been flying the wrong 233's all these years..
WE ALWAYS have to Re-Train those who got their basic in Schweitzer's before
ever letting them fly anything else, and it's a long process in most cases
to "un-Schweizerize" these guys....
As far as not spinning.....a 2-33 is "difficult" to spin......but willingly
will give you about 1/2 spin entry (enough to kill you close to the ground)
but is nearly impossible to teach what a real spin entry is to prepare
students for what they might find later in their flying careers, I
personally don't thinks this is a good thing.......
I haven't flown the Puchaz, but have flown the Grob and dozens of other
"trainers" and find the Grob pretty pleasant to fly, pretty good performance
and pretty respective of what other gliders might fly like later on when
your student moves on ....
For a Low cost and really nice flying trainer I find the K7 and even more
so, the K-13 to be wonderful options....they are getting older (like
Schweizers) but you will have to look long and hard to find gliders that
have trained more pilots than these have and rarely do you hear of any
serious incidents with them....they are willing to spin, but react naturally
to avoid spins and recover quickly and naturally......they soar very well,
coordinate "as other sailplanes do" and you can have these cheap on the used
market.....they too would be pretty easy to "re-enter" production if anyone
really thought there was a market enough to offer them (right now there are
still 100's available used)
If you really want an american built intermediate 2 seater, the 2-32 would make
a fantastic conversion to
glass.
I don't know anyone who uses 232's for anything other than selling
rides.........Big, heavy.......cumbersome.....I just don't see a 2-32 as a
"good" anything.......except if all you do is sell rides....
sorry.......Just my opinions......but you asked for them.
