Dec 15, 2005.

Here is the prototype fuselage , spar and wings. Mike did a great job of cutting the foam for the wings on his foam cutter.

Sept 10, 2005: The mold is opened

October 2005 Mike has the parts which are being hand sanded.

August 2005:The top mold is gel coated and curing to a point that we can put on the fiberglass

Feb 13, 2005 Tim has brought in theModel so that we can make the mold- looking real good

Mike has sent a picture of a wing spar! I personally saw the spar and was very impressed. Mike decided against dropping off the carbon rods going out to the tip just for convenience. Mat Calculated the spar strength at 28 G's at the root. Mike says he has the Dtubes cut on the foam cutter as well.

Tim sends us a photo of the Pioneer V plug in progress.

Nov 11 2004. Tim has glued the fuselage pieces together and sanded them smooth..... now to make the mold!

Looking like a Glider!

September 26, 2004. Tim has glued together the fuselage

Look pretty odd at this point... now to the sanding!

Jim has finished the fuselage plans and Mike has finished the fusleage foam cutting.

Mike has done a great job of hot wiring out the fuselage!

July 8, 2004. Mat Redsell, Tim Tanquay, Jim Marske and Mike Couts met to discuss the Planning for the PV 1/4 scale model.

It was decided that Mike would do the initial sketchwork for basic layout and then work with Jim who will then refine the plans for the PV and then make plans so that Mike will be able to cut the foam.

Once the foam is cut, Mike will make the wings and Tim Tanquay will make the fuselage. Mike has suggested that the wings employ the same spar and fork and tongue as the full scale.

Mike will Fit them together and test fly it.

Mat will be the manager and Jim will design the fork and tongue arrangement for the PV full scale.

As soon as the agreement is made and we receive the initial payment we will start. AT this time we will announce the start of the 1/4 scale to the general public and acknowledge Phil Sheridan and Reflexdesign as our sponsors.

March 12, 2007

Its been some time since I last posted any progress but that is not because Mike Couts has not made progress..... more that Mat has not got around to posting any photos.
