Mats Monarch Rudder, ailerons, elevators
| Getting the rudder glued up at first glance looks tough but a little ingenuity is nneded to get the parts at the correct angles. use 5 minute epoxy to get the ribs tacked. These parts can be doen in the home where the heat is..... provided the wife is well warned!! |
| More ribs! and a few weights to hold the rudder flat! |
| Note the use of the packing tape! |
| YES that is the kitchen dining table... amazing how everything takes over!! Well the kitchen was warm and besides I could have supper and still be working on the Monarch. Notice the use of the sandbags for weights. |
| OK time for those all important Gussetts. Remember this is where all the strength is!! Make a good bond. |

| An elevator just glued together with 5 minute epoxy! Remember the 5 minute epoxy is not structural and your gussets are the strength that holds everything together! |
| In this photo I am sanding the elevator to get all the surfaces flat! yes that is a sanding block. |
| Here I am attaching the fin spar stiffners |
